East Texas Giving Day is today, Tuesday, April 28, and you know this year's charitable donations have been seriously affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic. All of our area charities need your support more than ever, it's time to dig deep if you can and help every organization that you can. Spread the love.

Obviously, if you have lost your job during the Pandemic then you have immediate and targeted plans for your stimulus check, I fully understand. However, if you're lucky enough to have been deemed "essential" and so far been able to keep your job during this mess then may I make a suggestion? Grab some local take-out.

As most of you know the Salvation Army provides Emergency services and during this challenging time, they have gotten a lot of requests for food. So, the Salvation Army has made the decision to open a "Neighbor to Neighbor" Drive-Thru donation distribution center Friday, April, 17.

With the Coronavirus pandemic ongoing, the Salvation Army located at 400 East 4th Street in Texarkana, Arkansas will be distributing food boxes on Wednesday, April 8.

Let me give you an update on the Salvation Army Family Store at 420 Walton Drive. The DONATION side remains open during normal business hours, however, the store remains closed.

Just a reminder that the Salvation Army Thrift Store on Walton Drive is closed due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. While they appreciate the donations they are receiving, please do not bring any items to the store when it's raining and leave them outside because they are being ruined in the rain and are unusable.

Townsquare Media and Schlotzsky's has teamed up to say thanks to its customers during this difficult time. While the restaurant's indoor dining remains closed, drive-thru service continues to stay open. That's why tomorrow, March 26, at 4PM Mario Garcia will be at Schlotsky's Drive-Thru at the Richmond Road location handing out gift cards while they last.

The ArkLaTex 100 Club’s third annual "Pull for Heroes" Sporting Clay Tournament is coming up this Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Rocky Creek Outdoors on South Stateline in Texarkana, Ark. Registration is open for teams and individuals.

You are invited to enjoy and delicious breakfast for a great cause, one of my favorite charity days of the year is coming up this Saturday, March 7. It's the Annual Pancake Day hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Texarkana.
