National Pancake Day is today Sept. 26, 2017.  In a recent survey done by the website National Today the survey revealed that Americans can't get enough of the fluffy breakfast treat.

According to the survey one in five Americans eat pancakes every week. Researchers asked 1,000 Americans how they like to enjoy their pancakes.

  • 60 per cent love pancakes, while 34 percent like them, 4 percent dislike them, and 2 percent hate them.
  • 29 percent eat them once every couple of weeks, while 12 percent eat them more than twice a week, only 34 percent of Americans eat pancakes less than once a month.
  • Seven percent eat all the pancakes in their short stack separately, while almost twice as many 12 percent eat them together instead of separately.

America's Top 5 favorite pancake toppings:

1.Maple syrup (26 percent)
2. Butter (17 percent)
3. Chocolate chips (12 percent)
4. Strawberries (12 percent)
5. Blueberries (9 percent)

By the way, "Did you know there are actually three National Pancake Days per calendar year? That's right, because America loves their flapjacks so much, there are three pancake days celebrated with some days offering free pancakes, according to the Sioux Journal.
