The Daisy State Park family will be celebrating its 60th anniversary as an Arkansas State Park from 1-4PM on Friday, Aug. 28.Learn all about Geocaching! Caches are all around you and just waiting for you to discover. Fee for this workshop is only $10 but registration in advance is required.

Then on Friday night the party continues with “Outdoor Movie Night.” A family-friendly classic will be shown on the big screen at the amphitheater from 7:30-9:30PM so bring your friends and family for a fun night to remember. Admission is free.

And to top off this very special weekend, on Saturday, August 29, make sure to join crew members for their “Scenic Lake Cruise." For the past 60 years, Daisy State Park’s campers have enjoyed beautiful Lake Greeson. Join in for a relaxing tour of the lake by boat to learn about the history and natural features of the lake. Registration at the visitor center is required by 8:30AM Saturday. The tour is from 10AM until noon. The meeting place is Area E Boat Launch and admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, and kids under 6 get in free.

Saturday night is the big bash! The park's 60th Birthday Party where everyone in attendance gets to  celebrate with a 50’s themed party. Stop by and enjoy the festivities, and have some birthday cake and ice cream. Be ready to share your favorite camping stories with your fellow campers from 6PM to 9PM.  Activities will take place at the Pavilion and are absolutely free.

Sunday the park wraps up the weekend with the famous “Cast Iron Cooking Workshop” in the Interpretive Center. Cooking with Dutch ovens has been popular at Daisy State Park for the past 60 years. Join park staff to learn to care for and use cast iron as they prepare a delicious breakfast, and become a part the legacy of cooking with Dutch ovens in the park. Space is limited, so registration at the Visitor Center is required. All supplies and ingredients are provided. This event is 9-11AM and admission is $15.
