Deadly Virus Missing from Texas Labratory
Could this be the end of the world? No, but a vial containing a virus that can cause "hemmorhagic fever" has gone missing from a research lab in Galveston Texas.
The University of Texas Medical Branch said there was no breach in lab security, and there is no indication of a crime. Authorities believe the vial containing the Guanarito Virus was most likely destroyed in lab cleaning procedure but are investigating.
The Guanarito Virus originates from Venezuela and is transmitted through venezuelan rats. Experts don't think that U.S. rodents are able to carry the virus, and that people are unable to pass the virus to each other.
