Fill a Bag! Help Feed Families and Stamp Out Hunger in Community
Do you want to help feed the hungry in our community? The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) is having its 31st annual national food drive "Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive" on Saturday, May 13.
The largest one-day food drive allows citizens an easy way to help donate food for those in need. This is an opportunity for you to help replenish the local food banks with food that can be distributed to senior citizens, children, and veterans throughout our communities.
Easy to Donate
It's easy to donate just leave a bag containing non-perishable food items such as canned meats, canned vegetables, soup, cereal, pasta, pasta, and rice next to your mailbox before regular mail delivery on Saturday.
Letter carriers will pick up the donated food on their regular delivery routes on that day and deliver the goods to pantries, food banks, shelters, and churches in the area.
Stamp Out Hunger Nationwide
Approximately 50 states, including the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands, and Guam will participate in the food drive.
The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive has been on a mission for some 30 years and has collected more than 1.82 billion pounds of food to help feed the hungry. Hunger affects 1 in 8 Americans nationwide. You're encouraged to make a food donation this Saturday, May 13. Fill a Bag, and Help Feed Families.
