So, this past Saturday was Free Fishing Day in Texas, now it's Arkansas' turn. If you love fishing, you can fish free anywhere in Arkansas this weekend June 12-14, and no license or permit is required for young and old anglers alike.

Residents and non-residents may fish this weekend without fishing licenses or trout permits. Regulations for Arkansas waters apply: daily limits, slot limits and length limits must be observed.

The event, which happens every year in June begins at noon Friday and continues until Sunday, thanks to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

A fishing license regularly costs $10.50 from the AGFC for Arkansas residents. For non-residents, the cost is $40.

Kids’ Fishing Day normally held at the Commission’s fish hatcheries on Saturday during Free Fishing Weekend has been canceled because of coronavirus concerns.
