January 2025 blew in like a blizzard (no pun intended) and Arkansans are getting their first taste of bitterly cold temperatures this week. We could even experience some snow later in the week. Many who travel the natural state know Arkansas is home to over 200 cascading waterfalls year-round  What happens to those waterfalls when they freeze is just short of mind-blowing.

⛄Glory Hole Waterfall

⛄Eden Falls

⛄Natural Bridge

This normally happens when the temperatures reach sub-freezing levels during the harsh winter months. Seeing a waterfall in its frozen state is not only spectacular but mesmerizing its like being frozen in time.

In 2021, YouTuber Trove1 went on an adventure of a lifetime with his family through some of Arkansas' rugged forest wilderness hiking to some of the state's biggest and best waterfalls, what he saw was captivating.

Glory Hole Waterfall

During the summer, Glory Hole Waterfalls is one of the most stunning waterfalls you will ever see as it flows freely through an open hole on the mountainside in the Ozarks. Seeing it frozen brings it to a whole new level.

Eden Falls

Another one of Arkansas' beautiful waterfalls is Eden Falls, near the Buffalo National Forest River at the base of a box canyon. The frozen waterfall resembles spikes as it tumbles over the rocky mountainside.
