Great Texarkana Duck Fest with Jase Robertson Aug. 9 [Update]
Sportsmen of Texarkana will heed the call – the duck call, that is – at the 2019 Great Texarkana Duck Fest featuring Jase Robertson of Duck Dynasty, presented by the CHRISTUS St. Michael Foundation.
According to a press release, Jason Silas "Jase" Robertson is an American television star from the former A&E reality television show, Duck Dynasty, the COO of the business Duck Commander, an innovator, and a professional duck hunter. Jase Robertson lives in West Monroe, Louisiana, with his wife, Missy, and his three children Reed, Cole and Mia. He is known for avoiding work in favor of hunting and fishing, speaking "duckinese", and for his self-proclaimed frog-hunting abilities. He calls himself "a frog's worst nightmare.”
The event is set for 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. on August 9, 2019, at the Four States Fair Grounds. The Duck Fest will feature food, music by Caroline Joyce and The Dusty Rose Band and fun for the whole family. Proceeds from the event will assist the CHRISTUS St. Michael Foundation in their efforts to support health services and programs for the Texarkana region at CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System.
Tickets are available now at fourstatesfair.com. General admission is $40, but VIP tickets offering a Meet-and-Greet with Jase Robertson are $100 (the cost includes general admission and is limited to 74 participants, first come first serve.)
In addition, duck enthusiasts can also compete in a duck call contest on stage with Jase Robertson at approximately 7 p.m. for $100 (includes general admission) and is limited to 20 participants on a first-come first-serve basis. The grand prize is a Duck Fest basket including a duck call from Duck Dynasty.
“We are excited to present Duck Fest to Texarkana this year as a new and unique event and are thrilled to have Jase Robertson joining us,” said Cristy Lummus, Development Coordinator, CHRISTUS St. Michael Foundation.
The petting zoo will be open, there will be food and beverages for sale, and children 12-and-under are admitted free of charge. Bring your own blankets and chairs!
