The first Green Texarkana Recycling Event for 2017 is this Saturday in downtown Texarkana, Arkansas.

Green Texarkana is a monthly event that occurs normally on the 2nd Saturday of the month throughout the year.

Paper, cardboard and plastic will be accepted at this event, and those materials can be mixed together. Electronics such as computers, printers and TVs may also be recycled.

Green Texarkana is not for recycling glass, Styrofoam, tires, furniture or hazardous materials including fluorescent lights (CFLs). Residents wanting more information about the City’s CFL recycling program can call 870-779-4946.

Green Texarkana takes place from 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., Saturday at East Third and Hazel streets. Residents must wait to bring their items until volunteers arrive at 8 a.m., Saturday. Bringing items prior to this time and leaving them in the parking lot is considered littering.
