Have you ever been driving down some lonesome stretch of highway in Arkansas and felt like you were not alone?

Halloween is right around the corner, and when traveling down a dark road at night in Arkansas, there may be something around the next curve that you can't explain.

Is Highway 365 in Arkansas The Most Haunted Highway in the State?

When you Google Most Haunted Highways in Arkansas, Highway 365 always pops up as being one of the scariest. The stretch of highway in Central Arkansas runs between Woodson, Redfield, and Pine Bluff. These roads have also been reported to be haunted.

Getting back to Highway 365, legend has it that when you're traveling down this highway, you may experience something paranormal, such as a female hitchhiker wearing a tattered, torn dress on the side of the road. She seemed in distress with bruises and cuts, and claimed she had been in an accident.

Here's where it gets interesting: The man who gave this woman a ride in 1973 offered to take her home. She climbed into the back seat, and when they arrived at her home, he turned around only to discover she was gone. He proceeded up to the resident's home, where he knocked on the door.

An older man answered the door. He told the man about the woman, and the man looked shocked. He told the concerned man that it was his daughter who died in an automobile accident up the road on a bridge years ago. Over the years, many more drivers have had an eerily similar experience while traveling down Highway 365.

Urban Myth or The Truth?

Of course, there's always more to the story.

So, the next time you're traveling through some of Arkansas' highways, don't pick up a hitchhiker because you never know, it just might be a ghost.
