Angela and Suki from HealthCARE Express came in this morning during the Wakeup Crew's morning show to talk about the free Klondike Leadership Academy that kicks off this Saturday.

Klondike Leadership Academy gives children from pre-K -5th grade the opportunity to learn and develop leadership skills. It's a year-long interactive program. The program challenges the minds of students by teaching nine key skills of a leader: reading, leadership, communication, volunteerism, team work, developing an “I can” attitude, saving and managing finances, entrepreneurial spirit and integrity and accountability.

Klondike Leadership Academy will allow students to work on different projects and tasks at their own pace and ability. Each topic will have points allocated to the tasks required to determine if they will earn bronze, silver, gold or platinum medals. There will also be an end of the program extravaganza celebration.

The event will host a one-day leadership camp that will teach and outline the topics for the kids.

The camp will be held at Texas A&M Texarkana Eagle Hall 7101 University Ave., Texarkana, Texas, 75503 from 10AM to 2PM on Saturday July 16. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

To register your child, visit this link. They would like for each child interested in the program to attend the workshop but it is not a requirement.

The program will be offered via various schools and youth groups. If your school, daycare, church or youth group is interested in implementing the program for your kids, please send an email to klatexarkana@healthcareexpress.us
