Construction of a New Picnic Pavilion Coming to Historic Arkansas Battlefield
According to the Nevada County Depot Museum, construction on a new picnic pavilion has begun at historic Prairie D’Ane Battlefield. When the project is finished, the pavilion will provide a covered space for travelers and community members to enjoy for years to come.
Several other improvements were recently added to preserve and share regional history at Prairie D’Ane Battlefield.

About Prairie D’Ane Battlefield in Prescott, Arkansas
Prairie D’Ane Battlefield, located at 2243 Highway 19 North, was the site of three three-day engagements between Federal and Confederate forces in April 1864.
Visitors can still see evidence of the historic battle on the grounds, as well as many artifacts recovered from the site that are on display at the Nevada County Depot Museum. The museum is located inside the 1912 Missouri Pacific Depot in historic downtown Prescott, Arkansas.

Hours of Prairie D’Ane Battlefield and Nevada County Depot Museum
The battlefield is open to the public 7 days a week, while the Depot Museum is open Thursday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
