Did anyone notice a big flash of light in the night sky last night in Arkansas?

I guess it depended on what part of the state you were in last night when a huge fireball lit up the sky. The first thing that came to mind was, Did another spy balloon just get shot down?

Well, it wasn't that. It was a pretty big meteorite that many Arkansans saw streaking across the evening sky around 7 PM in parts of the state including Little Rock, Benton, Hot Springs, Conway, and Camden.

The meteor was so bright that it gave off a green hue as it fell to earth accompanied by a loud sonic boom as it entered the atmosphere.

Several security cameras caught the cosmic interstellar event in action.

The American Meteor Society reported around 98 reports of the sighting that occurred mainly across the South.

I was outdoors about that time last night in Texarkana and I would have noticed that for sure. It was great to know it was not an alien invasion!
