The mysterious occurrence happened around 9 PM near Dallas as reported by CBS-DFW and was seen as far away as Arkansas, Missouri, and some parts of Louisiana.  According to reports, it was a meteor from the Perseid meteor showers that happen around this time of year late July going into August from the comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle.
