It's official "Sparks In The Park"  is back on! Thanks to the Texarkana A&P Commission and Cooper Tire, the annual fireworks show in Texarkana is slated for Saturday, June 29, at the Four States Fairgrounds.

"Sparks in the Park" is always a free event with free parking and lots of fun activities leading up to the fireworks show that evening.  Free games for kids to win prizes at our radio station tents so make sure and stop by for some fun. There will be a kid's sandbox along with some bounce houses at the event. You can also take a ride on in a monster truck but there will be a fee to do that.

Remember, fireworks scare pets so please, no pets allowed at this event. Also, some children may be scared of the loud pops and bangs of the fireworks show so you're encouraged to bring some ear muffs or ear plugs as a precaution.

This year's "Sparks in the Park" celebration will feature live entertainment from local band Heather Linn and the Deacons.

The fireworks show will get underway at 9:30PM and you can tune to our sister station Eagle 106-3 to hear patriotic music that has been specially programmed to go with the fireworks show. You can listen on the radio,if you're watching from the parking lot or listen via our mobile app or tablet.

Every year we get asked why the fireworks show is done the weekend before the 4th of July. The reason is that we want to have a rain-out day in case of bad weather, with this date we are able to get more volunteers needed for this event. It also allows our police department to have more officers available to insure that the fireworks show is safe to attend. Because of the 4th of July Holiday, patrols are normally stepped up, meaning officers are needed for the roads and other 4th of July situations, that could spread them thin.

Don't miss "Sparks in the Park" on Saturday, June 29, beginning at 4PM at the Four States Fairgrounds. Opening ceremonies at 6PM with the fireworks at 9:30PM.
