(East Texas) Just like that, another weekend is here, East Texas! Thanks to Monday's holiday and a short work week for many, it's time to think about what you're going to be doing this weekend.
You could go cruising through area neighborhoods for some great finds and deals at local garage sales. Or hang out on a patio and enjoy lunch or dinner with drinks with your friends. You could mow the yard, plant those summer plants, and clean up around the house, or just be lazy and sit around and do nothing.

It's better to get outside and do something fun, though. There are quite a few exciting events happening in East Texas this weekend, so you can hopefully avoid being that couch potato that I described in the paragraph above!

Canton First Monday Trade Days

First Monday Trade Days grounds - Canton
It is time to shop until you can't shop or walk anymore! The world's largest flea market is open for business, and vendors will spread out over 450 acres with their vintage goods for sale, along with homemade crafts, antiques, soaps, animals, clothing, and so much more. There's live entertainment and, of course, the festival food to satisfy your appetite. You'll find something you didn't realize you needed!
Wild West Market/Family Fun Fest
Friday and Saturday
2502 W Upshur Ave - Gladewater
This is a two-day event happening at the Gladewater Rodeo Grounds. There will be bull riding events, a petting zoo, bounce houses for the kids, food trucks and vendors, and a water balloon fight on Saturday at 2p with more than 800 water balloons!
Come out with the family and shop, and have some fun!
Cowboys and Hotrods

11915 FM 2015 - Tyler
Cross Brand Cowboy Church is hosting the Cowboys and Hotrods Car Show. There is an entry fee to enter a car, but the event is free to attend. There will also be vendors and food available.
Ruck Hike For Suicide Prevention And Mental Health Awareness

904 Warren St - Gilmer
This will be the inaugural event for the Ruck Hike in Gilmer. Registration opens at 8a with the walk beginning at 9a. There will also be vendors and food trucks on site as well. Hike for suicide prevention and mental health awareness.

Car & Motorcycle Charity Poker Run

The Car and Motorcycle Poker Run will raise money to outfit someone with a new prosthetic. 100% of the proceeds will benefit local amputees. There are five locations for the run. The participant with the best poker hand will win the grand prize. There will be several door prizes, raffles, and silent auctions as well. There is a cost associated with this event.
School's Out Skate Jam @ Faulkner Park

School's Out Skate Jam at Faulkner Skatepark in Tyler. Game of SKATE, Death Race & Best Trick Contest! $10 Entry fee. Food trucks, snow cones, a bounce house, and a fingerboard park! Fun for the entire family!
This is a fundraising event to install lights at Faulkner Skatepark. Come out to support the local skate community and be a part of lighting the way for the next generation!
All Hands On Deck Boat Run

The "All Hands on Deck" Boat Run hosted by the American Cancer Society of Tyler and the Lake Tyler Community Association will be happening Saturday, May 30th. Enjoy a fun day on the lake in your boat and make seven stops and docks around the lake for a chance to win some great prizes!
In-person registration is open on the day of the event at the Lake Tyler Marina.
