The Two Most Expensive Grocery Stores in Arkansas
Times are tough. I am quickly reminded of that every time I go to the grocery store. Did you know that two of the most expensive grocery stores in the nation are in Arkansas?
We all have our favorite grocery stores, whether it's because of their convenience, prices, items that they carry or their customer service.
For me, it's about prices and the convenience of the store's location. It's hard to go somewhere for lower prices if you have to drive across town to get there.
And coupons? I know I should but frankly, I just don't have the time.
Delish.com recently put together a list of the five most expensive grocery stores in the country and two of those stores have locations in Arkansas.
The grocery store that is the most expensive in Arkansas is,
Whole Foods
Here's what Delish had to say,
There’s a reason why Whole Foods is often referred to as “Whole Paycheck.” Since being founded in 1980, Whole Foods has earned a reputation for being one of the most overpriced grocery stores in the country. It’s faced scandal after scandal, from selling a bottle of water with three stalks of asparagus for $6, to their former CEO blaming America’s obesity crisis on “making poor choices” and “ignorance.”
Arkansas has at least two locations one in Little Rock and the other one is in Fayetteville. I love this store and try to go anytime I am near one but for everyday shopping? Maybe not the best idea.
The second most expensive grocery store in Arkansas is
The Fresh Market
This grocery store was inspired by the open-air markets in Europe and now has 159 locations in 22 states with two locations in Arkansas in Little Rock and Rogers.
Delish said,
The Fresh Market sells great products in every department. You can stock up on house-made croissants, freshly cut floral arrangements, specialty cheeses, and luxurious private-label products sourced from artisans all over the world. It sounds like the grocery store of everyone’s dreams—but there’s a catch. It’s pricey. With most of its locations situated in affluent areas, it’s clear that their primary demographic is not the average shopper.
Granted this store is really cool but the prices are not. You can see the other stores listed in the most expensive grocery stores in the country at Delish.com.
