Severe weather warnings were flying around the area again this Monday Morning, just one week since Severe Weather and Tornadoes caused damage and several injuries. The good news this time is no major damage or injuries reported as the storms were not as fierce as last Monday.

Drier much cooler weather moving into the area for this evening and the overnight hours and a beautiful Spring day in store for Tuesday around the area.

Texarkana Arkansas Police say the investigation continues into last weeks shooting death of a local man. 21 year old Terry Koontz was found dead with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of the Willow Apartments on East 35th street. One suspect has been arrested and charged in the case and he is 22 year old Cortez Rahod Hooper of Texarkana. The Fouke Arkansas School Board will hold its regular business meeting this evening starting at 7:30 pm in the Fouke School Adminstration Building. The school board will here adminstration reports, consider revisions to student policies and also conduct an executive session. The public is invited to attend the open portion of tonights meeting.

Good economic news around the area as the Chief Financial officer in Texarkana, Texas says the year-to-date sales tax  revenue is up 4.07% compared with the same time last year.  City CFO Charlie Bassett says " This is very good news!"

In sports the Texas Rangers have the best record in major league baseball as we begin a new week. The Rangers are 8-1 and begin a series today in Detroit against the Tigers. Texas has struggled in Detroit over the past several seasons.
