Texarkana Texas Trash Pickup Changes Start May 1
Waste Management of Texas in Texarkana has been our waste disposal provider for residents, communities, businesses, and industries on the Texas side for many years, and is in the process of some major equipment upgrades and enhancements to their solid waste collection service. On May 1, 2024, WM will begin launching automated collection services across the City of Texarkana, Texas, intended to make residential waste collection more efficient, cleaner, and safer.
Starting next Wednesday, Texarkana will begin the transition period to collect residential waste carts using an Automated Sideload truck. The truck can only collect waste within the cart; trash placed outside the cart will not be collected. If one cart/can is not enough, residents may call Texarkana Water Utilities at 903-798-3800 to request a second cart/can.
Leave A Little Room Please
If you watch the video you will see how these trucks operate and you'll also notice that they need a little room to do so. please give it to them.
Carts should be placed outside at the curb by 7 AM and be clear from other objects for WM to service the carts. Some extra good news, the price for residents will remain the same until 2025.
What About Bulk?
According to the release today, WM is introducing a new bulk waste collection program and will collect up to four cubic yards of bulk waste from residents once a month. Residents will receive a brochure with information about bulk collection, guidelines, and a schedule in the mail throughout the transition period.
For more information or if you have questions, visit the Texarkana WM website, or call the local WM office at 903-276-9660.
