We all know that Texas is a big state, but I am a bit shocked to find it is the second most haunted state in the nation.

A recent list of the most haunted states came out, and yes, Texas is ranked at number two! Coming in at number 1 was California, at number 3 it's Florida, number 4  Washington and rounding out the top 5 is Ohio.

How Was This Study Done on The Most Haunted States?

Our friends at Hard Rock Bet looked at a few different factors in the study to come up with this list. They looked at five things.

1. Haunted locations

2. Ghost towns

3. UFO sightings

4. Bigfoot sightings

5. Ghost sightings.

Turns out Texas has some pretty creepy numbers! Texas has 550 ghost towns,  336 haunted locations, .6,909 reported spectral encounters (spectral meaning ghost, phantom, and apparitions), plus 6,786 UFO sightings and 264 Bigfoot reports. Whew! That is a lot!
