The Texarkana Arkansas Board of Directors meets tonight beginning at 6pm at City Hall.  The board will first have a discussion of the 2011 Mid-Year Budget, then at 7pm the regular meeting will include questions for TexAmericas Executive Director/CEO William Cork, regarding the update of TexAmerica's plan for Red River Army Depot area.

Also the board will consider purchasing up to 4 new police cars from a dealership in Nederland Texas. The public is invited to attend the open portion of tonights board of directors meeting.

A conservative group linked to Republican strategist Karl Rove is launching an ad campaign that targets 4th District  South Arkansas Congressman Mike Ross. Ross is one of 10 vulnerable Hoouse Democrats who are up for re-election in 2012. The TV ads begin airing today.

The number of counties with outdoor burn bans has reached a record 246 as drought conditions linger. The Texas Forest Service says the previous record was 221 counties which was set back in the Winter and early Spring of 2006 during a very dry period for a large portion of the Lone Star State.

The Texas Rangers remain red hot. The Rangers beat the Seattle Mariners yesterday to extend their current winning streak to 11 games.
