Good Monday, Here are some stories making headlines today:

The world is reacting following the news that a United States Navy Seal team killed Osama Bin Laden early today Pakistani Time. The wanted fugitive, mastermind of the September 11, 2001  terrorist attacks, was hiding out in a two story compound just north of the capital of Pakistan.

United States officials say Bin Laden was shot in the head by Navy Seals and that his body was quickly buried at sea. The U.S. State Department has put out a warning to all Americans living or traveling abroad to be prepared for possible reprisal attacks from the Al-Qaida terrorist network.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the Northern Half of the Four States Area including Texarkana. Showers and Thunderstorms will be ongoing throughout the day with locally heavy rainfall at times. Two to four inches of rain will be common across the watch area with isolated higher amounts up to 7 inches possible in extreme northern portions of the area across SE Oklahoma and SW Arkansas.

The Texarkana Arkansas City Board of Directors holds it twice monthly meeting tonight at city hall. The meeting gets underway at 6:45 pm with the Presentation of the City of Texarkana, Arkansas Employee Service Awards. The regular meeting convenes at 7 pm. On the agenda includes a presentation by City Beuatiful Commission Chair Nedra Turney regarding the city wide cleanup day scheduled for this coming Saturday May 7th.  There will also be a closed executive session towards the end of tonights meeting. The public is invited to attend the open portion of tonights city board meeting.

The Texas Rangers begin this week tied for 1st place in the American League West with the LA Angels with a record of 16-12.  The Rangers fell on the road in Oakland yesterday by a score of 7-2.
