Texarkana College will host a Bulldog Boot Camp for first time students this summer in preparation for the fall semester of 2011. This new required student orientation, scheduled throughout the summer, will prepare students for the college experience by presenting occupational and career information, reviewing rules and procedures, sharing tips for college success, and familiarizing students with the campus.

Dates for the boot camp range from July 12th to August 23rd.

The clean up continues today in Little River County Arkansas after a train derailment dump rail cars and coal between Ashdown and Ogden. Invesitgators believe a broken rail caused the derailment that caused such a mess but injured no one earlier this week.

Casey Anthony, the Florida mom who was acquitted of charges that she murdered her two year old daughter Caylee was sentenced today.

The judge did give her a year for each count of lying to investigators, but with time already served and good behavior behind bars she will be let free from jail next Wednesday July 13th.

In Sports:

The labor talks between the owners and players in the NFL collective bargaining issue are continuing today.  Training camps are due to open in less than 3 weeks with the first exhibition game, the Hall of Fame game is slated for 1 month from today.
