Texarkana Arkansas Police have a death investigation on their hands. Authorities were called to the 5100 block of Crossroads Parkway in reference to a man down. Officers spoke to a couple of witnesses who had located the unknown white male lying on the ground deceased.

The man was found in a undeveloped lot that was partially wooded. The victim is believed to be homeless and his identity is being confirmed. There were injuries to the deceased and his body has been sent to Little Rock for an autopsy. The Texarkana Texas ISD Board of Trustees meets tonight in regular session at 6pm at the District Services building at 1600 Waterall Street.

The board will hear a legistlative report among other items. There will be a closed sesssion as well. The public is invited to attend the open portion of tonights meeting.

Builders broke ground on more single family homes and apartments in June, as the home building industry tried to shake off a historically bad spring.

The Commerce Department says builder began work on a seasonally adjusted 629,000 homes last month, a 14.6 % increase from May. Still, that's  roughly half the 1.2 million homes per year that ecnomists say must be built to sustain a healthy housing market.  Apartment construction surged 31.8% while home contruction rose around 9.5%. Building permits a gauge of future construction rose by 2.5%.
