Texas country lifer Kevin Fowler is premiering the music video for his nostalgic new song "Country Song to Sing" exclusively for readers of The Boot. Press play above to watch the clip and take a trip down memory lane.

The "Country Song to Sing" video is packed with previously unseen, vintage footage from Fowler's childhood growing up in Amarillo, Texas -- including several pretty adorable shots of baby Fowler and his family -- along with scenes featuring Fowler performing at Buck's Backyard in Buda, Texas. It's the perfect backdrop for a song that's all about paying homage to the good ole days with good tunes blaring in the background.

"I think everybody can relate with this song," Fowler tells The Boot. "No matter what stage you're at in life, you always have a country song to sing: a song that will always remind you of that exact time in your life.”

In Fowler's view in "Country Song to Sing," there's no occasion that isn't improved by belting out a country song: "If you're hangin' with a friend you ain't seen in a while / Or a pretty girl leaves you with a smile / You've got a country song to sing," he sings. "If you're feelin' proud of where you're from / Or lost in the crowd and missin' someone / You've got a country song to sing."

A stalwart of Texas' vibrant country music scene for nearly two decades, Fowler can frequently be found playing to rowdy, sold-out crowd in honky-tonks across the state. He's also shared the stage with Nashville hitmakers including Montgomery Gentry and Granger Smith, and recorded a 2011 duet with George Jones, whom he name-checks as a major influence in "Country Song to Sing."

In 2019, Fowler's got big plans to release new music, with new singles set to debut throughout the year and an album that's "coming soon." In the meantime, fans can purchase or stream "Country Song to Sing."
