The Agent Barry Live United Bowl had just about everything going right for it on Saturday afternoon in Texarkana.

First the weather was absolutely perfect, partly sunny and temperatures around 70 made for a very comfortable day for the fans in attendance. Second, the turnout was strong, and lastly the game itself was a terrific match up not decided until the last few minutes of the fourth quarter.

In the end, the Pittsburgh State Gorillas came from behind to defeat Arkansas Tech by a final score of 48-31. The game, however was much closer than that, only decided in the final two minutes of the game. In fact, Arkansas Tech led 31-14 at half only to see Pittsburg State roar back in the the second half.

The crowd not only enjoyed a very competitive and well played college football game, but they were also treated to performances throughout the game by both schools dance and cheer squads and bands.

Halftime was very entertaining with the University bands and the Robert St. John Band with a special performance that had the crowd on it's feet.

Not to mention that three lucky fans took home $1,000 each and a another fortunate fan won $2,000 just for being at the game. Two people also were the recipients of fire pits.

All in all, everyone had a great day. The United Way of Greater Texarkana will be the biggest recipient, with all proceeds going to the local chapter which helps out dozen of area agencies, that in turn help out thousands of area citizens in need.

All ready looking forward to next year and the 6th Annual Agent Barry Live United Bowl.

Congratulations to Allen Brown and the bowl committee on a fantastic event. Thanks to the teams, bands, cheer and dance teams from both universities, and thanks to all the fans from Kansas, Arkansas, and the local community who showed up at the game.

See you next year!!!!!!
