We all have that one place that we miss that has closed in Texarkana. Just yesterday we found out that Meomyo's Bayou Cafe closed and that makes me a little sad.

I am always trying to make sure that when my family and I go out we try to go to 'mom and pop' places and keep them going. COVID had a big impact on them and many are struggling.

I did a post on Facebook about the restaurants that were in Texarkana that have closed and you are missing. After doing a little research I found some of these lost Texarkana restaurants where you can make a short trip and enjoy some of that wholesome goodness.

Monjunis

I remember when Monjuni's opened in what now is Twisted Fork. I have always been an Italian fan and they had some great food. The good news is that you can visit Monjuni's in Bossier City. The address is 2149 Airline Drive in Bossier City Louisiana.

Mr. Gatti's Pizza

Mr. Gatti's was the place to go for pizza in the early 1980s. I remember it had one of the very first big-screen TVs. If you want some of that gooey goodness you will need to make a short drive to 1201 East Main Street in Allen Texas. Mr. Gatti's website says they would invite people to open a franchise and if anyone is feeling nostalgic you could bring one back to Texarkana.

Pancho's Mexican Buffet

Pancho's was kind of a love-hate relationship for most people. I loved the flautas and they would be my thing to bring if I had to bring food to a party. The old location now has a couple of restaurants there like Jason's Deli and Joe's Italian. You will find Pancho's Mexican Buffet at 4550 Gus Thomasson Rd, Mesquite, TX 75150

Luby's Cafeteria

Luby's was the spot to go t at Central Mall back in the day. In Texarkana, you only had a couple of choices for that kind of food Bryce's which is no longer with us, and Luby's. I found a Luby's and it is in Plano, TX at 5040 W Park Blvd.

Johnny Carino's

Johnny Carino's was one of the most commented restaurants that folks in Texarkana miss the most. From the awesome spicy shrimp and chicken pasta, you can find Johnny Carino's at 988 US-287, Waxahachie, TX.
