National Day of Prayer Events to be Held in Texarkana Thursday

Thursday May 4 is the annual National Day of Prayer across the country and there are at least three events planned for Texarkana.

There will be a prayer event at  6:45AM at the First Baptist Church Moores Lane.

Another prayer event will be held at 11AM at Sugar Hill United Methodist Church on Sugar Hill Road.

And another prayer event will be held at noon on the steps of the downtown post office in Texarkana.

The National Day of Prayer observance was passed by both houses of Congress and signed by former President Harry S. Truman in 1952.

According to Wikipedia, the National Day of Prayer includes people of all religious faiths who come together to pray for our country.
