The upcoming summer season is going to be a splash in Ashdown, Arkansas! City officials recently announced the opening of the new Splash Pad at the Ashdown City Park located at 1211 Gordon Drive.

The Splash Pad named "Splashdown" was estimated to cost approximately 450,000 when the idea of the splash pad came to fruition in 2019. Thanks to Domtar, several individuals, and businesses the city was able to obtain added support from the Blue and You Foundation for a $150,000 grant to help toward building the Splash Pad.

City officials are hoping that the Splash Pad will be a centerpiece of the park during the summer where kids and families can gather for years to come.

The Splash Pad is now open through September 30, from 9 AM - 7 PM.

Here's a video from FOX 33 News about the new Splash Pad.

The Ashdown City Park is home to softball, baseball, and other family-oriented activities throughout the year. The Splash Pad in Ashdown now marks the second park in our area where kids and families can go for summer fun. Spring Lake Park in Texarkana is the other location.
