A tragic fire in Cass County early Sunday morning has left two people dead and investigators searching for answers.

According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 5 AM on Sunday, April 26 to a commercial structure fire at the Punj Truck Stop and Indian Restaurant, located along U.S. Highway 59 in Domino, near Queen City in Texas.

Fire Quickly Engulfed Building on Highway 59 in Cass County

When crews arrived, officials say about 25 percent of the building was already engulfed in flames. Several local and volunteer fire departments quickly responded, working to contain and extinguish the fire.

Unfortunately, Victims Found on Second Floor

Authorities confirmed that two individuals were found deceased on the second story of the building. At this time, their identities have not been officially released, as officials are waiting for confirmation and notification of next of kin.
