Recall Issued On Natural Grocers Brand Dark Chocolate Almonds

Vitamin Cottage Natural Food Markets, Inc, a Lakewood, Colorado based natural grocery chain, has issued a recall on one lot of six ounce packages of Natural Grocers brand Dark Chocolate Almonds with the Julian-packed on date 13-351. The recall was issued because some packages in this lot may contain undeclared dark chocolate covered peanuts.The FDA has issued a press release.

The product was distributed to several of the Natural Grocers' Stores including those in Texas in late Dec.2013. Only packages with the Julian packed on date "13-351" are subject to recall.

The issue was reported to the company by a customer who discovered some dark chocolate covered peanuts inside a package.The facility also packages tree nuts, peanuts, and other allergens and displays a warning about this on the product label. No reports of any allergic reactions have been reported to date.
