See Stunning Hot Air Balloon Rally in Shreveport July 12-14

If you are like me and love to see those beautiful hot air balloons fill the sky then you are in for a treat. It's almost time for the Red River Balloon Rally in Shreveport Bossier City.

All the fun will start on Friday, July 12 through Sunday, July 14 at Lousiana Downs in Bossier. There will be live music nightly, food trucks, retail vendor booths and balloon glows at dusk. Plus a Kids Zone and tethered balloon rides.

Gates will open at 5 PM both Friday and Saturday evenings.  Be sure to bring lawn chairs and sunscreen for a day of fun. General admission is $5 and children ages 5 and under get in free.

Balloon Glows will go on from approximately 8:30 PM to 9:15 PM on Friday and Saturday nights, ending with Fireworks at 9:30 PM. You can get a full schedule of events here.  

The Louisiana State Ballooning Championship will be held on Saturday and Sunday during the day.

On Sunday it's the family-friendly Balloons Over DeSoto that will take place at C.E. “Rusty” Williams Airport in Mansfield.

There will be food, tethered balloon rides, a car show, plus more including live entertainment, food trucks and a firework show. The kids can enjoy bounce houses from  4 PM to 10 PM. There will be a shuttle service available and parking is free.
