Red River Balloon Rally

If you are like me and love to see those beautiful hot air balloons fill the sky then you are in for a treat. It's almost time for the Red River Balloon Rally in Shreveport Bossier City.

It's that time a year again for the CenterPoint Red River Balloon Rally June 11-12, in Shreveport-Bossier at the LSUS Campus, featuring more than 30 hot air balloons from the US Team Nationals competition.

The 2020 CenterPoint Energy Red River Balloon Rally: Overflight Edition returns this weekend in Shreveport-Bossier with a series of overflights instead of the traditional outdoor festival, which was originally slated for June 12-13.

This past weekend I had a chance to attend the Red River Balloon Rally for the first time  in Shreveport and I must say, I had a great time at the LSUS campus.

The 2017 Red River Balloon Rally is set for this weekend July 14-15, with the U.S. National Hot Air Balloon Championship going on through Sunday, July 16, 2017. The balloon rally along with other events and activities will be held at the LSUS campus in Shreveport. Saturday evening will feature a concert with Rodney Atkins followed by a balloon glow and a huge fireworks show.

A few years ago I had the opportunity to ride in a hot air balloon over Texarkana. Man, what a ride! There's just something surreal about floating through the air with just the sound of the wind surrounding you and of course the occasional blast of hot air gas needed to keep the balloon afloat.
