September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and if you want to be a part of a 5K that will benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research then get ready. This Saturday, September 26 it's the 'Run TEAL We Find a Cure 5K Race' at Spring Lake Park in Texarkana.

The race is presented by Newk's Cares. According to the events page on Facebook, Newk's Cares was created by Lori and Chris Newcomb, he is the co-founder and CEO of Newk's Eatery. Lori was diagnosed with stage IIIC ovarian cancer in February 2013 and she lost her battle in 2019.

Check-in is between 7:45AM and 8:45AM with the race beginning at 9AM.

Masks are required before and after the race and to please practice social distancing. .

Due to COVID-19 regulations, all registrations are due by Thursday, Sept 24. Register online at Run TEAL There's a Cure website. Registration fee is $25.

An Award Ceremony will follow immediately after the last runner makes it past the finish line so people are not gathered for longer that Covid-19 regulations.

Medals will be awarded to Overall Male/Female. And Top 2 finishers in these 6 age groups: 12-19, 20-29, 30-39,40-49, 50-59 and 60+ ages

Runners will be required to sign a waiver at the time of registration, under 18 must have a parent's signature.
