Saturday Night Texarkana Halloween Party Shooting Victim Identified
Texarkana Texas Police have identified the shooting victim who died from his wounds during the Saturday night shooting at a Texarkana Halloween party on Texas Blvd at the Octavia’s Event Center. He is 20-year-old Javon Gooden, of Texarkana, Texas. Police report that the other victims who were shot that night include both males and females, ages ranging from 15 to 23 years old. Fortunately, none of those injuries are thought to be life-threatening.
The investigation is ongoing and Detectives could use your help if you were in attendance at this party, they would like to see any and all pictures and videos captured on cell phones or any kind of audio or video device, just before the shooting started. Keuntae McElroy, 21, of Texarkana, Arkansas (pictured above) turned himself in Sunday. Detectives are currently preparing probable cause affidavits to obtain arrest warrants for McElroy for Murder and eight additional charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Detectives believed that McElroy was inside the building for a period of time before the shooting. The preliminary investigation indicated that the shooting may have been the result of some type of disturbance among some of the partygoers. It is estimated that there were at least a couple hundred people in the venue when the shootings occurred.
