SAU 2018 Homecoming Week Theme Is ‘Mollywood’ – October 15-20
Southern Arkansas University will celebrate Homecoming Monday through Saturday, October 15-20. Homecoming Week is themed “Mollywood” and the schedule is full of SAU traditions honoring alumni and culminating in Mulerider football.
The fun begins at 6 p.m. Monday with the Homecoming Kick-Off Pep Rally Parade at the Greek Theatre. On Wednesday, at 8 p.m., the Student Activities Board will host Drive-In Movie Night in the Reynolds Center parking lot. The movie will be “Incredibles 2,” and the event is open to the public.
According to the Press Release, on Thursday, the Great SAU Campout/Bonfire/Pep Rally will be held at 10 p.m. at the Alumni Center. Spirit Logs and the Street Painting Party will be from 11 p.m.-1 a.m. on the Farm Road.
On Friday, Homecoming Heartbeat will begin at noon in the Mall Area. The SAU Sports Hall of Fame Induction Dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Grand Hall of the Reynolds Center. At 8:30 p.m., “A Night With Nicky,” presented by Alpha Kappa Alpha, featuring R&B soul singer Nicky Parrish of Little Rock, will begin in the Engineering Building. Tickets are $15. The Golden Mulerider Brunch, honoring the class of 1968, will be held in Grand Hall at 10 a.m. Saturday. For more information or to RSVP, contact the SAU Alumni Office at (870)235-4079. Mulegating, sponsored by Peoples Bank, begins at 11 a.m. at the Alumni Center. The Homecoming Pep Rally will be at 1 p.m. at the Alumni Center lawn.
Also starting at 10 a.m. is the BSU/BCM Alumni Reunion at the Baptist College Ministries Building. The event continues at 6 p.m. at 21 Old Oaks Drive in Magnolia. For more information, contact Robert Gunnels at rgunnels@sautech.edu.
Presentation of Homecoming Royalty will take place at 2 p.m. at Wilkins Stadium, followed by the Mulerider football game at 2:30 p.m. as SAU takes on East Central Oklahoma.
At 6 p.m., the NPHC Greek Show will begin at the W.T. Watson Gymnasium. The event is hosted by Alpha Phi Alpha and Alpha Kappa Alpha. For more information, contact Cledis Stuart at (870)235-4046.
Thirty minutes after the football game at approximately 6:30 p.m. will be the Dr. Margaret Downing Softball Complex Dedication at Dawson Field, followed by the Mulerider Softball Championship Ring Ceremony, also at Dawson Field.

SAU Beyond the Campus will be open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. The SAU Bookstore will be open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday and at the football game through halftime.
