The CHRISTUS St. Michael Atlanta Foundation will host the second Atlanta Tour de Forest Recreational Bike Ride on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at the Atlanta Fairgrounds in partnership with the Atlanta Forest Festival.

Launched in 2018, the now-annual event was a first for the Foundation and the first event of its kind for the Atlanta community. The ride will start and end at the Atlanta Fairgrounds, located at 606 S. Louise St.  Day-of-race registration opens at 7AM., and the ride will start at 8:30AM. Participants can register online at bikereg.com/tour-de-forest. The early registration fee is $30, and registration at the event is $35. All registration includes an event t-shirt and swag bag.

According to a press release, the ride includes the choice of four routes through the piney woods of Northeast Texas: 10 miles total for an out and back ride and 19-mile, 36-mile or 50-mile loops on paved roads. All routes offer rest stops and are supported by race volunteers.

Each Tour de Forest participant entry will receive a ticket to the Atlanta Forest Festival, also scheduled for Saturday, June 1, to enjoy a great mix of talent from the ArkLaTex featured in the Oaklawn Opry Reunion Show backed by the Country Plus Band.

“The Tour de Forest is a recreational bike ride, highlighting the beautiful piney woods of Northeast Texas,” said Melissa Kimble, Foundation Development Coordinator. “The four routes offer riders of all skill levels a great opportunity to enjoy a day outside with family and friends and test their skills if they wish.”

“With the support of Atlanta and the Cass County community, this event will benefit those who need our assistance through the efforts of the CHRISTUS St. Michael Atlanta Foundation,” she said.
