A great big shout out to Simms, Texas ISD students for their efforts in making Bowie County a little more beautiful, by picking up litter in its Adopt-a-Highway Campaign.

Simms Students cleaned up sections of around one mile of highway either side of the Simms High School entrance on US Highway 67 and then another mile north along State Highway 98. A total of 25 volunteers in the group picked up 48 bags of litter in about three hours of work back in December.

Anyone interested in getting a team together whether it be a business, school, or civic organization, and adopt a section of highway for litter prevention is asked to contact StephanieFahrney at TxDot at 903-799-1202 or visit the Adopt-a-Highway website.

Adopt-a-Highway
