Sonic Delivers New ‘Summer of Shakes’ to Kicker Studios
Yesterday (May 1) I got a nice surprise from Sonic on Arkansas Boulevard, just down the street from the radio station. They brought me a variety of home-spun milkshakes to sample from their new Summer of Shakes variety.Sonic's Summer of Shakes features 25 different shake flavors for you to choose from and best of all, Sonic shakes are made from real ice cream with each one hand mixed just right. With anything at Sonic Drive-In – you can customize your shake and make up your own flavor by mixing and matching.
Of course, they have the classic shake flavors like chocolate and strawberry. But they also have some surprising flavors that you would never think of, like peanut butter and bacon, chocolate-covered banana and coconut cream pie! Whatever your mood, Sonic has a shake for it. I sampled the peanut butter and bacon and it was absolutely delicious and very tasty. Don't let the word bacon scare you away, I think your taste buds will be pleasantly surprised, as were mine.
And don't forget all summer long, you can get any Sonic shake for half price after 8 p.m. Sonic shakes are a great way to cool off during a hot summer day... or anytime for that matter.
Just a little history about Sonic - America’s favorite drive-in: Did you know they've been around for nearly 60 years? Sonic originally started as a hamburger and root beer stand in Shawnee, Okla. called Top Hat Drive-In, and later changed its name to Sonic. The first drive-in to adopt the Sonic name is still serving customers in Stillwater, Okla.
