Sparks in the Park Welcomed Huge Crowd to the Fairgrounds
An estimated 30,000 people attended this year's 2016 Sparks in the Park at the Four States Fairgrounds.
Texarkana poured into the Four States Fairgrounds for the annual Sparks in the Park festival put on by the City of Texarkana, Ark., SW Arkansas Electric REA, Bowie Cass Electric and Townsquare Media.
Red River Army Depot was present with many of its tanks and trucks, which allowed adults and children to climb around inside and take photos.
A jet from Barksdale Air Force base was on hand and even gave a few people rides around the fairgrounds.
The Darby Games, named after Townsquare Media's own Andi Darby, included games such as:
The Hula Hoop Contest:
The Water Balloon Toss Contest:
The Sack Race Contest:
And when people got hungry, they found their way to places like the kettle corn stand for a freshly made treat.
Thanks to the City of Texarkana, Ark., for this drone video:
Relentless performed a beautiful rendition of the "National Anthem" as the Barksdale Air Force Color Guard was in attendance.
Relentless went on to open the show with several numbers, putting on a terrific show for the huge crowd.
Headlining the musical event of the evening was the Dusty Rose Band. Lead singer Jason Springer really put on a fabulous show, jumping off stage numerous times to interact with the audience, which he loves to do.
And finally, there were fireworks.
