Staycation Adventures ‘First Friday Market’ in Camden Aug. 2

Get ready downtown Camden, Arkansas' "First Friday Market' is coming up on August 2, from 6PM – 9PM to celebrate “Staycation Adventures”.

The market will be filled with an abundance of adventures for your enjoyment. Be sure to check out the “Downtown Camping” area. Bring a canned food item to leave in front of the campsite you feel is decorated the best. All canned food items will be donated to a local food pantry. Get a group and test your skills with the Natural State Escape Room. The cost is $5.00 per person, groups of 5 to 6 will be able to try to beat the time on this special Escape Room.

Be sure to check out the schedule of where you can find Woody and Jesse from Toy Story. Everyone wants to get those selfies in with these characters. As usual there will be a vast array of vendors set up along Washington St and Adams Ave selling everything from refurbished furniture to jewelry. Adventures don’t stop when it comes to food either. Your taste buds can travel home or abroad with an authentic Indian vendor, Oriental egg rolls and dumplings, or Italian Ice. If your preference is more US-style we have that covered too, with a New York style hot dog cart, fried fish and smoked meats.

Stop by A Frame of Mind to visit with this month’s featured author, Stephanie Bennett Thompson. She will be on hand with her book, “Love Yourself First”.

You can find the special Evening Farmer’s Market on the Farmer’s Bank Parking Lot for all your fresh produce, local honey, jellies, jams, free range eggs, grass fed meats and more. Catch the sounds of this month’s special live music at the corner of Washington and Adams.

Downtown merchants will be open late for all your shopping convenience offering great First Friday specials.

Be sure to stay late and catch the “After Party” located over in the campsite area for more relaxing fun as the night goes on.
