Here is a great way to start celebrating America's 250th birthday. Texarkana is kicking off the celebration with its first airshow in 30 years this Saturday, June 27, at the Texarkana Airport.

The Texarkana Airshow, presented by Red River Credit Union, is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, at Texarkana Regional Airport, located at 2600 Txk Blvd. in Texarkana, Arkansas.

Airshow, BBQ Cook-Off, Live Music, Supercars on The Runway, Vendors and More

Gates open at 10 AM with plenty of activities for visitors of all ages throughout the day.

BBQ Cook-Off

Food lovers can enjoy a major BBQ Cook-Off sanctioned by the Champions BBQ Alliance. Teams from across Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana will compete for a guaranteed $10,000 payout. Categories include chicken, pork, ribs, and brisket, along with a kids' competition and a special Chef's Choice event.

The Run The Runway 5K is at 7 AM.

Runners will have the opportunity to take part in a unique 5K race starting at 7 AM that includes a stretch along an active airport runway. The race benefits For the Sake of One, a nonprofit organization that supports children and families involved in foster care.

Ride The Runway

For those who enjoy fast cars, Precision Exotics will offer guests the chance to experience high-performance supercars on the runway in a controlled environment.

Live Music and Family Entertainment

Live music will keep the energy going throughout the afternoon, leading up to the airshow performances. Scheduled entertainers include Heather Lynn and the Deacons, Cam Allen, and country music favorite Wade Bowen.

They told us which airplanes we can expect to see and the big important things, like how to get tickets, parking, what you can bring in, and what you cannot bring in to the airshow. Things to Know Before You Go

Tickets are only available here online. If you wait til you get there, you will need to order your tickets and parking pass on your phone. No cash will be accepted for parking or entrance.

Parking will be available at the Four States Fairgrounds, with shuttle buses running throughout the day to and from the airport. The shuttle buses will run every 8 minutes.
