Walk to Remember: Join the Fight Against Alzheimer’s in Texarkana
The Alzheimer’s Association will be hosting its annual Texarkana Walk to End Alzheimer’s this Saturday, September 20 at Spring Lake Park in Texarkana. The event is free and open to the public. I am walking, and I hope you will join me.
Where Does the Money Raised Go Towards?
I lost my mother to Alzheimer's and one of my brothers to early onset. Research is the key! The money raised from the walk supports critical research for Alzheimer's and other dementias, as well as the Association's 24-hour caregiver hotline

There were no medications available for my mother and very little for my brother. But that is changing. Did you know that two new medications have recently been approved to help those with early-onset Alzheimer’s improve their quality of life? And more treatments are in the near future.
Here is How to Participate in Texarkana
Whether you walk, donate, or simply show up in support, you’ll be part of something big. A community working together towards one goal...ending Alzheimer’s.
You can join my team or donate on my page as I walk with one of my childhood friends. Both of us have lost loved ones to this horrible disease. Be sure to check if your employer matches your donation. There are a lot of companies that will match your donation.
You can also sign up for the walk by yourself or start a team at act.alz.org
