See Who Took Top Float Honors at the Main Street Texarkana Parade
After being postponed earlier this month, the 41st annual Main Street Texarkana Christmas Parade went off without a hitch Monday night.

This year's theme was "Celebrating Texarkana," and from the looks of the large crowd gathering on the streets, everybody was in a celebratory mood. Parents and children lined the parade route to get a glimpse of all the lighted floats and, of course, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.
The sound of firetruck sirens and Christmas music filled the air, along with the smell of grilled Philly steak sandwiches being sold on the street corner. This year, I rode with the crew from Wholesale Electric Supply Company in their vintage 1952 Ford F-100 pickup truck.
Usually, when I am in the parade, I'm used to hearing my name being shouted out, but in this case, with my white beard and wearing a Santa hat, I heard little kids yelling, "Santa," which I found very endearing and heart-warming.
