Texarkana Arkansas City Wide Cleanup: March 7 Volunteer Info

The Texarkana, Arkansas Parks & Recreation Department is calling on residents to roll up their sleeves and help keep the community looking its best during the upcoming City Wide Cleanup on Saturday, March 7.

Volunteers will gather from 8 AM to 12 PM for the community-wide effort aimed at beautifying neighborhoods and public spaces across Texarkana, Arkansas.

Planning Meetings Scheduled for Volunteers

Tendra Washington with the City of Texarkana, Arkansas Parks & Recreation, said, the effort is a great opportunity for families, civic groups, churches, and individuals to come together and help identify areas of need across the city.

Community planning meetings will be held at the Terry Lee Rogers Recreation Center, located at 1 Legion Drive, on the following dates:

Wednesday, February 25 at 3 PM

Saturday, February 28 at 10:00 AM

Wednesday, March 4 at 5:30 PM

Volunteers to Receive Supplies and Lunch

On Saturday, March 7, participants will meet at the Terry Lee Rogers Recreation Center to receive an event shirt, trash bags, safety vests, and gloves. Supplies and street assignments will be provided that morning. A light breakfast and lunch will also be available for volunteers.

Velvet Hall, with the City Beautiful Commission, reminds high school seniors needing community service hours that this is a perfect opportunity to get involved.

Washington added that the only thing volunteers need to bring is a positive attitude. Organizers will provide the rest. The day will focus on teamwork and neighbors coming together to make a visible difference.
