Texarkana College will receive a $100,000 grant from the American Electric Power Foundation for the purchase of advanced manufacturing training equipment.

According to a press release, regional businesses and industries seeking skilled workers in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, and instrumentation will benefit from the advanced training opportunities provided for TC workforce students. Four advanced training modules will be purchased with grant funds that directly align with workforce needs within our region. Students who complete the training programs will have the skills needed to seek careers in high demand industrial technical fields.

Jennifer Harland, External Affairs Manager for AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company and Texarkana College president Dr. Jason Smith will make remarks during the ceremony.
