Texarkana Country Singer- Songwriter Making Inroads in Nashville
Country Music fans I'm here to tell you about new Texas singer-songwriter Nathan Belt who hails from Texarkana.
Nathan Belt
Belt has been belting out the tunes (no pun intended) since the early 2000s after making his way to Nashville, Tennessee. Like many new artists, it takes a while to get noticed in the Music City but his love of the traditional, classic country sound has gained a loyal fan base in a genre where the traditional country sound is lacking. Nathan Belt and the Buckles a fan-favorite band has been performing at venues all over Nashville as well as hosting and being the featured performer on the world-famous General Jackson Showboat, one of Nashville's top attractions.
A brand new self-penned solo EP is set to be released this year and he just released a new single, “Clean Livin’ Is Killin’ Me” which was co-written and produced with his long-time friend, songwriter, Bryan Simpson.
About The Song
The song came about when he offered me a cup of coffee during our co-write. I informed him that I don’t drink coffee and that led to a long conversation of “What else do you not do?”.
"It's a rare occasion when I decide to have any alcohol these days after diverticulitis almost took my life in 2018 and resulted in major emergency surgery."
I’ve not been able to tolerate much whiskey or beer ever since, though I do still enjoy a drink now and again. With a history of past heartache, we had ammunition for a country song that even George Jones would be proud of.
Nathan Belt's Hometown
Nathan was born in Texarkana he has a sister Angie who still lives here along with several cousins, aunts, and uncles who still call Texarkana their home. He first began performing many years ago at the Ashdwon Jamboree in 1994 at a very young age. Since 2014, he's performed at the Broadway and Music Valley honky-tonk scene.
"It's been a long journey to this point but well worth it," said Belt." This independent country artist is doing it his way surrounded by some great people in the music business and with the love and support of his family and friends.
