Texarkana Farmers Market ‘Salsa Contest’ August 7
The Texarkana, Texas Farmers’ Market will host its annual "Homemade Salsa" Contest Saturday, August 7th, from 9 AM – 1 PM at 305 Texas Boulevard, Texarkana, Texas.
In this year's contest, all participants must submit a pint of their salsa to the Texarkana Health Department to be tested. You must submit your entry on Monday, August 2, or Tuesday, August 3 by 4:30 pm. Your salsa will be tested and if it passes you will be given a sticker showing that it has passed. Those who do not pass will be alerted as well.
Salsa sales will be permitted this year all jars must have a sticker showing that they passed inspection as well as contents and date.
Along with the salsa contest, local vendors will be on hand selling fruits and vegetables, arts and crafts, and an assortment of other goods. Live music provided by “Jazz by Bryan and Cathey” will keep things cool, and special booths for children will provide fun for market-goers of all ages.
The Texarkana Farmers Market is open Saturdays from 7 am until they are sold out. You can find many great locally grown items including products that are picked at the peak of freshness for you to enjoy. There is also a kid's area for the little tone to play at while mom and dad do some shopping. The kid's area includes blocks, chalk, and other items for the kids to play with and is centrally located for your convenience.
The Texarkana, Texas Farmers' Market is an open-air market in historic downtown Texarkana that provides an avenue for local vendors to sell their products while promoting healthy, locally grown food.
