Nominations Open for The Texarkana 2026 Historic Preservation Awards
The Cities of Texarkana, Arkansas and Texarkana, Texas are once again coming together to celebrate the people and projects that help preserve our area’s rich history.
Nominations are now officially open for the 2026 2nd Annual Historic Preservation Awards, following a successful inaugural event last year that brought out strong community support from both sides of the state line. Organizers say this year’s ceremony is expected to grow even more in both impact and participation.

Recognizing Preservation Efforts Across Texarkana
The awards will highlight six areas of preservation, including media, cultural awareness, civic and commercial venues, sacred places, residential homes, and excellence in historic or preservation education. One winner from each side of the state line will be selected in each category by local preservation commissions.
Ceremony Set at Historic Texarkana Venue
The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 27 at 6 PM at the historic Arkansas Municipal Auditorium, which is in itself deeply rooted in Texarkana's cultural past.
