Texarkana Library Hosts Summer Kickoff and Vendor Fair Next Saturday
I have something today that I haven't had in a long, long... long time, I have a Texarkana Public Library Card. When was the last time you went to the library? Need a good reason? Let's see if we can find you a few.
Texarkana Public Library Celebrates 100 Years
The Texarkana Library downtown is celebrating its 100th anniversary all year long with different themes and events happening each month. There's one more event for May coming up next weekend. On Saturday, May 31, your library will host the Summer Reading Kickoff Party and Vendor Fair.
The event takes place from 10 AM to 2 PM and will be loaded up with over 20 vendors, plus face painting, food trucks, bounce houses, and more!
By the way, there is still room for more vendors if you're interested. Please get in touch with Olivia through the Library's Facebook Event Page.
Libraries Are Not Just Books Anymore!
Not that there is anything wrong with books, far from it, but kudos to the library folks for seeing a need and filling that need by greatly expanding things you can do and things you can checkout at the Texarkana Library.
- Movies on DVD
- Computers
- Laptop Computers
- 3D Printing for your projects
- Button Making Press
- Telescope
- Hotspot
- CD-ROM Drive
- Pupets
- Leap Pads
- Cricut Machine
- Audio Books
- and of course... Books!
I don't think you can check these guys out, but they can sure sit with you while you read.
Your Texarkana Public Library has tons of great reasons to stop in, discover new things, learn, and create stuff. Plus, right now you can get your limited edition 100-Year Library Card like I did. They're FREE!
